Hanoi John

[Michael Farmer / TheTanker.Com / John Bertetto] Appearing Nightly with Gen. Giap

I’m busy this week, so I’m not gonna spend a lot of time on this. I’ll make my point, then get out of Dodge.

A lot is being made out of President Bush’s service record, especially compared to John Kerry’s. I’ll just say this: They both served. I really don’t give a rat’s ass that Bush served in the National Guard and Kerry served in Vietnam. Bush did not want to go to Vietnam. Guess what, neither did a lot of other people. But did he go to Canada or hide out on some college campus (yeah, I’m talking about you, President Draft Dodger)? No. He went in the Guard and flew a jet. The man served.

Kerry, on the other hand, went to Vietnam. He had a relatively nice job on board a frigate, to my understanding. He left that job to command a Swift boat. There he earned three Purple Hearts and a Silver Star. Now, I’m not gonna be one of those chickehawk bastards that questions how Kerry earned his medals or questions the way in which he earned them. He served, he was wounded, and he was decorated. For that he has my respect.

Where I take issue with Kerry is with what he did upon his return from Vietnam. I’ve got no problem with the fact that Kerry was against the war and wanted to see it end. But what he should have done was used his status as a decorated veteran as his platform. He should have presented the clean-cut image of a professional soldier, decorated in combat, as his vehicle for protest. Instead he dishonored himself and his country. He threw somebody else’s decorations over a fence like ninja stars (his are really in his office on display), aligned himself with Hanoi Jane (we still shoot people for treason, don’t we? Communist jazzercise bitch), and authored a book displaying a mockery of the flag raising on Iwo Jima, complete with an upside-down flag. Now, I won’t call the man a traitor, but I’ll look the other way if you do.

Kerry’s supporters claim that what he did 30 years ago was legal, and irrelevant to his candidacy. Well, guess what - wrong is wrong, and it’s as relevant as Bush’s “questionable” service from 30 years ago that they can’t seem to leave alone. And today Kerry is all about his service and how proud of it he is. I have one question for you, John Kerry. Were you lying then, or are you lying now? Thirty years ago you were ashamed, now you’re proud? And while I’m on the topic, wasn’t it the liberal left who stood against the Vietnam War and the “babykillers”? Now all of a sudden they’re for a guy who served in that war?

Kerry’s supporters claim that his protest of the Vietnam War, while maybe not conducted in the best possible fashion, was done out of his love for the country. It is in no way is indicative of any “leftist” or “Communist” sympathies. Kerry is American through and through, they claim, and he stands for integrity and justice. Yeah, well tell that to former Nicaraguan President, Soviet-backed Sandinista leader, Saddam supporter, and all around douche bag Daniel Ortega, who Kerry had his photo op with. John Kerry has stated on more than one occasion that he would put the authority of the United States own Armed Forces under the direction of the United Nations. The Goddamn United Nations! A body consisting of, among others, nations that sponsor and support terror, speech givers, petty rivals, and straight out pussies (read: France).

Well, pucker up, John Kerry. Not my America. No Goddamn way. I will not stand by and watch you sign away the sovereignty of this Great Nation. This is my America, and it will forever blaze its own glorious trail upon the map. We will forever reserve the right to act when, where, and how we deem required. We will forever remain in control of our own destiny. And we will forever reserve the right to stomp a brand new mudhole in whoever’s ass needs it. We had a Hell of a time recovering our morale after the reign of President Base Closure. President Bush has done a damn fine job of restoring the pride and honor of our fighting men and women, and I will not stand by while you threaten to piss it all away. No way. The United States Armed Forces serve America. They will not serve as the personal escort service for the United Nations. You can pucker up and kiss my Red, White, and Blue Ass.

And one last thing. I’m getting a little tired of hearing the media refer to President Bush as “Mr. Bush”. Show a little respect, jerk weed. He is the President of the United States. His title is “President”. Christ almighty, Clinton got his crank sucked by someone other than his wife, inside the White House, and lied in a court of law about it, and you still call him “President Clinton”. It’s President Bush. You better get used to it. You’re gonna have to say it for another four years.
